Welcome to the "Honeymoon Capital of the World." Some say Aaron Burr's daughter, Theodosia, started the Niagara Falls honeymoon tradition in 1801 with her new husband; others attribute it to Napoleon Bonaparte's brother Jerome, who honeymooned here in 1804. Nevertheless, over 200 years later, over thousands of honeymooners choose a Niagara Falls getaway each year.

The destination is equally ideal for couples who want to tie the knot in one of the most romantic settings in the world. From photographers to planners, florists to limousines, Niagara wedding professionals make planning simple and enjoyable. For ceremonies and wedding receptions of any size, Niagara offers many beautiful venues including wedding chapels, luxury Niagara hotels and quaint bed and breakfasts. Plan an elaborate, traditional celebration or, with no waiting period for marriage certificates, you may elope. Either way, you and your guests have a wonderful selection of accommodations to choose from, with over 50 hotels offering an array of Niagara Falls honeymoon suites.

Once the wedding guests are settled in there are plenty of activities to keep everyone entertained. Traditional Niagara attractions such as the Maid of the Mist boat tour,  Journey Behind the Falls, or Niagara Air Tours are enhanced by eight world-class golf courses, twenty-five Niagara-on-the-Lake vineyards just 15 minutes away, and the Fallsview Casino with nightly entertainment and five-star Niagara accommodations.

Honeymooning in Niagara Falls? Be sure to pick up your "Official City of Niagara Falls Honeymoon Certificate" at the Niagara Falls Tourism Office located 5400 Robinson Street. This is an official honeymoon souvenir showing that you've spent your honeymoon in Niagara Falls and includes FREE admission for the bride to a variety of Niagara attractions
